The roof line

Matching pitch, overhang and fascia is what makes an addition disappear. Get it wrong and nothing else saves it.

The siding

Matching aged siding exactly is usually impossible, so we plan for it: wrapping a whole elevation, or using a break line that looks deliberate.

What is already there

Your foundation, framing and service may not carry the new load. We check before quoting rather than discovering it with the walls open.

Four stages, with the disruptive part kept short.

Survey and design

We measure what you have, check structure and service capacity, and draw what fits.

Permits and foundation

Permit pulled, then footings and foundation for the new space, all outside the existing house.

Framing and dry-in

Framed, roofed and closed in before we open your wall, so you live in a whole house for as long as possible.

Tie-in and finish

The opening is cut, mechanicals extended, then drywall, trim and paint to match.

Will we have to move out?

Usually not. We frame and dry-in the new space before opening the existing wall, which keeps the disruptive stretch to days rather than months.

Can you add over the garage?

Often, yes, but it depends on the existing foundation and framing. That is the first thing we check.

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Estimates are free on every job. If you want a rough number before anyone drives out, send photos and a description and we can usually get close on the phone.

What areas do you build in?

Fort Wayne and the surrounding Allen County area, including New Haven and Huntington. If you are outside that, call (260) 602-0054 and ask rather than assume.

Are you licensed, insured and bonded?

We are insured and bonded, and we are a family-owned company based on Keystone Drive in Fort Wayne. Proof of insurance goes out before work starts if you want it, and permits and inspections are ours to handle.

How do you handle changes once work has started?

In writing, before we carry on. You get the cost of the change and you approve it. Nothing gets added quietly and presented at the end.

I went through 2 other local contractors before finding Mike Bertoli at BGC Management. The other two never showed up to do the jobs and never called to explain why. They wouldn't return my calls to them after waiting all summer. It was quite frustrating! I went through Home Advisors and Mike called me and made an appointment to come and see the roofing, siding, soffits, and gutter projects that I had. He called me when he was going to be 10 minutes late. How refreshing! He listened to what I needed done, and had an estimate the next day. He is very personable, and had great attention to detail. The cost was extremely fair. He had a crew to do my metal roof exactly when he said he would, and the same with the siding crew that also did my soffits and gutters. He kept in contact along the way.
