We build custom homes in and around Fort Wayne from the ground up: site work and foundation through framing, roof, siding, mechanicals and finish. One builder the whole way, so there is one person to ask when you want to know where things stand.

The lot

Slope, soil, access, utilities and whether a drive has to be cut. Site work is the line people underestimate most and it happens before anything looks like a house.

The footprint and the roof

Square footage matters, but roof complexity matters more per dollar. Every valley and dormer is framing, flashing and labour.

When you decide

Choices locked before framing cost what they cost. Choices changed after drywall cost considerably more. We will tell you which decisions are coming and when.

From lot to keys.

Five stages, and you know which one you are in.

Plans and budget

We walk the lot, talk through what you want and put a written budget against it before anything is committed.

Permits and site work

Permits pulled by us, then excavation, foundation and utilities.

Framing and dry-in

Framing, roof, windows and siding, to the point the weather is outside and your house is not.

Mechanicals and finish

Rough-ins inspected, then insulation, drywall, trim, cabinets and paint.

Walkthrough and handover

We walk it with you, list anything outstanding, finish that list, and hand you the keys and the paperwork.

What people ask us most on this kind of job.

How long does a custom home take?

It depends on size, weather and how quickly selections get made, but most of our builds run several months from permit to keys. You get a schedule with the written budget.

Can you build on a lot I already own?

Yes, and that is most of what we do. Send us the address and we will walk it.

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Estimates are free on every job. If you want a rough number before anyone drives out, send photos and a description and we can usually get close on the phone.

What areas do you build in?

Fort Wayne and the surrounding Allen County area, including New Haven and Huntington. If you are outside that, call (260) 602-0054 and ask rather than assume.

Are you licensed, insured and bonded?

We are insured and bonded, and we are a family-owned company based on Keystone Drive in Fort Wayne. Proof of insurance goes out before work starts if you want it, and permits and inspections are ours to handle.

How do you handle changes once work has started?

In writing, before we carry on. You get the cost of the change and you approve it. Nothing gets added quietly and presented at the end.

I went through 2 other local contractors before finding Mike Bertoli at BGC Management. The other two never showed up to do the jobs and never called to explain why. They wouldn't return my calls to them after waiting all summer. It was quite frustrating! I went through Home Advisors and Mike called me and made an appointment to come and see the roofing, siding, soffits, and gutter projects that I had. He called me when he was going to be 10 minutes late. How refreshing! He listened to what I needed done, and had an estimate the next day. He is very personable, and had great attention to detail. The cost was extremely fair. He had a crew to do my metal roof exactly when he said he would, and the same with the siding crew that also did my soffits and gutters. He kept in contact along the way. My house is absolutely beautiful . This company deserves to have a 5 star rating. They keep their word and do quality work at a very fair price. I couldn't say enough good things about them as my experience has been stellar Thank you, Mike & Bruce. I will recommend them to anyone that needs any work done.
